In October 2000 the MASTRRR COMPANY supplied 5, 10, and 20 HP units for ETV testing. The units were tested with a preliminary nonvacuum and vacuum style mixing element. The data collected prompted further development of radial and axial dispersion type mixing elements. The new mixing element designs have proven to increase the mixing intensity and dispersion of the inducted chemicals into the water stream. THE MASTRRR COMPANY has made several attempts to test the new designs with the ETV program and has been told the facility is not available for future testing. The new designs include a 3 blade vacuum cavity distributor which increases the gpm mixing intensity of the radial dispersion. The 32P design provides a high gpm axial dispersion propeller. With out ETV testing and documentation on the new designs the MASTRRR COMPANY can only provide reference lists upon request. These references include new GAS MASTRRR installations and applications were WaterChamps or Chlor-A-Vac units have failed and been replaced with GAS MASTRRR.

Old style mixing element

The older mixing elements tested during the ETV program had five parabolic cavities and five chemical exit ports on the inner face. The 30 gpm dye tracer pumped through the unit during operation exited the inner hub. The location of the exit ports on new generation mixing elements were moved to the periphery of the parabolic cavity. The number of parabolic cavities was reduced from five to three which provided a deeper and larger mixing blade. This deeper cavity produces a larger gpm dispersion from the unit.

The series 32P was introduced for axial dispersion applications and provides a high gpm dispersion from the Hasteloy C propeller.

THE MASTRRR COMPANY continues to seek ETV verification on the new generation mixing devices. When and if the S.O. Conte Anadromous Fish Research Center will be available is still undetermined.
